Module 1: Strategic Objectives and Product Vision

In this module, you will deal intensively with mission, vision and values and find out what impact they have not only on your product strategy, but also on the motivation of your team. You will learn how to align your company's goals with the goals of your product and how to create a convincing vision of the future using vision boards and storytelling. You will also gain insights into effective methods for involving managers, team members and other stakeholders in the vision development at an early stage. Finally, we will show you how to derive concrete milestones for the coming months and years from an abstract vision and thus create a long-term roadmap.

Module 2: Market and Customer Analysis

A successful product strategy is based on a sound market and customer analysis. In this module, you will learn how to systematically segment the market in order to identify and specifically address different customer groups. We delve into methods of trend analysis and competition observation and look at tools such as PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces and SWOT analyses to identify opportunities and risks at an early stage.

A central part of this module is the product life cycle and its importance for product strategy. You will learn how to determine the current cycle phase of your product and what actions are required in the different phases - introduction, growth, maturity and decline - in order to maximize market share and secure competitive advantages.

Additionally, we delve deeper into customer engagement techniques by engaging with effective customer interviews, surveys, and focus groups to gain precise insights into customer needs and expectations. Using personas and empathy maps will help you better understand user behavior and make informed strategic decisions.

Through user-centered prototype testing, we show you how to validate early product versions to minimize risks and design market entry with maximum impact. Finally, you will receive proven methods for deriving data-driven decisions in order to continuously adapt your product strategy to changing market conditions.

Module 3: Roadmapping and Prioritization

In this module, the focus is on building a clear and actionable roadmap. You will learn how strategic, tactical and operational roadmaps fit together and when which type of roadmap makes sense. We will dive deep into prioritization models such as RICE , Cost of Delay and the Kano model so that you can make informed decisions about which features or projects to implement first.

You will also learn how to keep track of ideas and requirements with structured backlog management and how to win over stakeholders for your roadmap using clear decision templates. Finally, we will look at how you can assess and manage risks (such as market changes or technical dependencies) in order to remain flexible at all times.

Module 4: Agile Implementation and Alignment

Here we show you how to successfully put your product strategy into practice using agile methods. You will learn when Scrum or Kanban are best suited and how to define concrete goals and continuously check results as part of sprint planning and reviews. In addition, we will explain how to use OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) to derive measurable quarterly goals and motivate your team to work towards mutual success.

We'll look at how you put together and lead cross-functional teams so that different departments work together smoothly. Regular feedback loops such as retrospectives or daily stand-ups allow you to identify bottlenecks early on and learn continuously. Finally, you'll learn how to use alignment meetings (e.g. product councils) to ensure that stakeholders and teams stay in sync at all times.

Module 5: Controlling and Optimization

In this module, we focus on the effective measurement and continuous improvement of your product strategy . You will learn about important product KPIs such as MAU, conversion rates, NPS or CLV and find out how to incorporate qualitative and quantitative data (e.g. through A/B tests or cohort analyses) into your decisions. Using continuous product improvement loops, you will practice how to validate new hypotheses and derive optimizations in short iterations. You will also learn how to set up transparent stakeholder reporting and how to make the successes of your product visible in order to secure support for further measures.

Finally, we will look at how to establish a culture of continuous innovation and learning in the company so that your product remains successful in the long term. We will summarize the most important findings, plan the next steps and reflect on how you can ensure sustainable learning success.

FAQ – Product Strategy & Execution Masterclass

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions, both on the general topic of product strategy and on the content and structure of our masterclass.

What is a product strategy and why is it important?

A product strategy defines how a company positions and develops its product in the long term to meet customer needs and achieve business success. Without a clear strategy, teams often invest in the wrong places or follow trends instead of creating sustainable value.

What elements does a successful product strategy include?

A successful product strategy is usually based on several core components:

  • Mission, Vision & Values : Why does the product exist? What goal drives the team?

  • Market analysis & competition monitoring : How is the market structured and which market gap needs to be filled?

  • Target group and customer needs : Who are the customers and what problems need to be solved?

  • Strategic roadmap : How can the vision be broken down into concrete steps and prioritized?

What is the difference between product strategy and product roadmap?

  • The product strategy is an overarching, long-term guideline. It answers the “why” and “where” – the fundamental meaning and purpose of the product, its goals and positioning.

  • The product roadmap is more concrete and operational. It shows the “how” and “when” – which initiatives or features will be implemented when in order to achieve the strategic goals.

What are the risks if a company does not have a product strategy?

If there is no clear product strategy, the following problems can arise:

  • Waste of resources : Teams often work on different goals and prioritize ad hoc.

  • Unclear goals : There is a lack of common understanding about where the product should go.

  • Low customer orientation : Important user needs are easily overlooked, which jeopardizes long-term customer loyalty and market success.

How can the success of a product strategy be measured?

Key performance indicators (KPIs) for a product strategy include, for example:

  • customer satisfaction (e.g. NPS – Net Promoter Score)

  • usage intensity (e.g. MAU – Monthly Active Users)

  • Economic efficiency (e.g. increase in sales, CLV – Customer Lifetime Value)

  • Implementation progress (e.g. degree of fulfillment of certain milestones or OKRs)

Who is the Product Strategy & Execution Masterclass suitable for?

Our masterclass is aimed at:

  • product managers and team leaders

  • software developers and designers

  • marketing, sales and customer success experts

  • Managers who want to establish customer orientation and agile working methods

It is therefore ideal for anyone who wants to develop their skills in the area of product strategy and its implementation.

How practical is the training on product strategy & execution?

We place great value on practical exercises . In addition to the theoretical basics of product strategy and roadmapping, you will work on concrete tasks, case studies and interactive discussions. This way you can immediately apply what you have learned and receive direct feedback.

Can I bring my own projects into the learning process?

Yes, absolutely. Your own examples from your work environment are very welcome and enable you to work directly on relevant topics. This way, you can not only acquire theoretical knowledge, but also develop solutions that can be implemented immediately in your company.

Which formats are offered for the Product Strategy & Execution Masterclass?
